4 Hour Tour Explore the harbour, stunning beaches and waterways of Tauranga city and Mount Maunganui on this "Best of the Bay" tour. Get some insider knowledge, and hear about the culture and history of our small town. Enjoy a short visit to the cute and colourful Historic Village if open, or an extended city tour if the village is closed (Sun/Mon). After leaving town, take a drive through prime kiwifruit country. Snap some photos of the kiwifruit vines, and learn about the history of kiwifruit in New Zealand. Stop to see the incredible views of the entire Bay of Plenty coast from the top of “The Minden”. On a fine day (most of the time), you can see the Coromandel Peninsular, all of the Tauranga/Bay of Plenty region, and right across to White Island from this viewpoint. See your ship far in the distance as you gaze upon the region from above. Next, enjoy time at the gorgeous Te Puna Quarry Sculpture Park and Gardens. These gardens host an incredible array of plants and birdlife, and many quirky and fun-filled sculptures. Choose your path depending on interest and fitness levels. Rest and enjoy the views in the shade, or climb high into the park if you are game! This park is a real treat for garden lovers, with many twists and turns where you can discover endless surprises around every corner. Finally, tuck into a delicious homemade feast in the shade of the trees at the park. Enjoy a giant home-made cheese scone with pure NZ butter, delicious gluten free brownie, and NZ's very own Lemon and Paeroa drink. This new inclusion is a real highlight of this relaxing and varied tour. Enjoy a gift of traditional New Zealand sweets on your way back to port. If dramatic views, stunning gardens, quirky sculptures and tasty food is your vibe, this is the tour for you! No worries about getting back to port on time, you are seeing the best the local area has to offer without venturing too far afield.
